Why Rotary Gear Pumps for Food & Beverage Transfer
Food and beverage production demands pumps that can handle a wide range of viscosities — from thin fruit juices and flavor concentrates to thick syrups, chocolate, and pastes. NAPCO rotary gear pumps deliver consistent, predictable flow across this entire range, with the positive displacement design ensuring accurate volume output regardless of viscosity changes during processing.
Our 316 stainless steel construction provides excellent corrosion resistance and is well-suited for food-grade fluid handling. The self-priming design draws product directly from drums, totes, tanks, and kettles without external priming equipment, reducing downtime between product changeovers.
316 Stainless Steel Construction
Corrosion-resistant housings and wetted parts suited for food-grade fluids, syrups, and acidic products.
Self-Priming
Draws product directly from tanks, kettles, and drums — no external priming or vacuum assist needed.
Bi-Directional Operation
Forward and reverse flow from a single pump. Load, unload, and transfer product without re-plumbing lines.
Gentle Product Handling
Low-shear positive displacement action preserves product consistency and quality during transfer.
Stainless Steel Construction for Food-Grade Applications
NAPCO stainless steel pumps are built with 316 SS housings that resist corrosion from acidic juices, brine solutions, and cleaning agents used in food production environments. The alloy steel shaft and precision-machined components maintain tight tolerances for consistent, repeatable flow rates batch after batch.
Standard nitrile rubber gears (rated to 240°F) work well for most food-grade fluids. For high-temperature applications like hot chocolate, warm syrups, or heated oil transfer, Viton gears are available and rated for extended service at elevated temperatures.
