Why Rebuild Instead of Replace?
NAPCO rotary gear pumps are engineered for field serviceability. Rather than replacing an entire pump when wear occurs, a PK200S rebuild kit restores the PA200S to factory performance at a fraction of the cost. Rebuilds can be completed on-site with standard tools, minimizing downtime. Stainless steel gears maintain corrosion resistance through multiple rebuild cycles. Typical rebuild time is 2–4 hours.
When to Rebuild
- Reduced flow at normal operating pressure — worn gear teeth no longer seal against the casing
- Increased vibration or unusual noise during operation
- Visible fluid leakage past seals at the shaft or case joints
- Higher motor amperage draw at the same RPM and pressure
- Declining accuracy on flow meter readings during delivery
What's Inside the Kit
The drive and idler gear assemblies (PA250S/PA251S) are factory-matched and must be replaced as a set to maintain proper mesh clearance. Stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance for chemical processing, food-grade, and caustic fluid applications. Four roller bearings (PM038) support both gear shafts. High-pressure seals (PM036) and low-pressure seals (PM037) prevent leakage at pressures up to 100 PSI. Center case gaskets and O-rings complete the seal package.
Stainless Steel Advantages
The PK200S stainless steel gears are required for corrosive chemicals, food-contact fluids, pharmaceutical ingredients, and any application where iron contamination is unacceptable. Stainless resists oxidation and pitting from acids, caustics, and chloride-containing solutions. For non-corrosive applications like petroleum, adhesives, or general industrial fluids, the PK200C ductile iron kit offers an economical alternative with equivalent performance.
