- Seamless integration with NAPCO pumping systems
How It Works
The DYN-100A operates on the principle of positive displacement gear flow measurement. Fluid enters through the inlet and is trapped in a known volume between the meshing gear teeth and the meter body. Each rotation of the gears displaces a precise, fixed volume of fluid. A pulse output or mechanical register counts the rotations to provide accurate total volume and flow rate measurement. This design maintains accuracy regardless of fluid viscosity, making it ideal for emulsions and other challenging fluid properties.
Applications
- Emulsion explosives delivery trucks — metering precise charges at the borehole
- Mining blast agent dispensing — tracking ammonium nitrate emulsion usage per blast
- Chemical batching — small-volume chemical dosing and blending operations
- Ink and coating metering — controlled delivery of printing inks or coating materials
- Lubricant dispensing — precise measurement for oil and grease distribution
Why Positive Displacement?
Unlike turbine or electromagnetic flow meters, positive displacement meters measure actual volume independent of flow profile, making them ideal for viscous fluids that would degrade turbine accuracy. There are no straight-pipe run requirements (unlike some inline turbine designs), and no conductivity requirements (unlike magnetic flow meters). The DYN-100A remains reliable across a wide viscosity range, from thin solvents to thick emulsions, without recalibration.
Integration & Output
The DYN-100A integrates seamlessly with NAPCO pumping systems and other equipment through its pulse output, which connects to electronic totalizers or programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for real-time flow data and batch control. The compact 1" form factor fits into tight piping layouts common on mobile delivery equipment, blast trucks, and batch processing systems. Integration is straightforward — configure your controller to count pulses and convert to flow rate based on the meter’s displacement per rotation.
