How It Works

Positive displacement gear flow measurement operates on a proven principle: fluid enters through the inlet, where meshing gears trap a known volume of liquid between the gear teeth and the meter body. Each full rotation of the gears displaces an exact, fixed volume of fluid, which can be counted via a pulse output signal or mechanical register. The DYN-300A is engineered around the proven PA300 pump geometry, delivering consistent high-capacity measurement for industrial applications.

Why Positive Displacement?

Unlike turbine or electromagnetic flow meters, positive displacement meters measure actual volume displaced by the internal mechanism, independent of flow velocity profile or fluid conductivity. This makes them ideal for viscous fluids where turbine meters stall and for non-conductive chemicals where magnetic meters fail. The DYN-300A requires no special straight-pipe installation lengths and operates reliably across temperature and viscosity ranges. Based on the PA300 platform, the 3″ size handles high-capacity industrial flow up to approximately 158 GPM at 280 RPM.

Pump-Meter Integration

The DYN-300A shares the proven PA300 pump body design, which means when paired with a PA300S stainless or PA300C ductile iron pump, both the meter and pump share the same 3″ port size, mounting interfaces, and flow characteristics. This simplifies system design, reduces integration complexity, and ensures the meter's operating range matches your pump's output capacity. The meter's pulse output is compatible with electronic totalizers and PLC systems for automated batch control and real-time flow monitoring. High-capacity design supports continuous industrial operation in demanding environments.
